Asbestos-related disease

Welcome to the International e-Toolkit for the Elimination of Asbestos-related diseases.

This side of the international e-toolkit provides the information, resources and publications you can use to develop evidence-based strategies to prevent exposure to asbestos and eliminate asbestos-related diseases. From developing a National Asbestos Profile to training videos on how to identify asbestos-related diseases, this online resource covers a very wide scope of global knowledge and expertise that can be adapted to any country environment.

The IHME Global Burden of Disease Study for 2023 estimated that approximately 240,000 people across the world die each year from historical exposure to asbestos, most notably chrysotile asbestos.

This is a living resource which will be updated when new information is published or research is updated. If you have any suggestions for content, please send an email to ADDRI-International@addri.org.au with your suggestions.
