Section II: Country summaries, case studies and resources

Section II of the Silica e-Toolkit provides an overview of how countries, organisations and researchers are responding to silica-related diseases and other dust-related occupational lung diseases around the world. It brings together national initiatives, worker support resources, regulatory approaches, surveillance programs, international case studies and scientific research to highlight both the ongoing challenges and emerging solutions in the prevention, detection and management of silicosis.

Drawing on experiences from Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries, this section showcases practical examples of policy development, disease surveillance, worker protection measures and national elimination programs. It also includes case studies and research exploring the global burden of silicosis and pneumoconiosis, advances in early detection, and current priorities for prevention and treatment.
