Clinical Psychologist
Julie Black is a Clinical Psychologist working in the Psycho-Oncology service at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney. She provides psychological support to patients and their families across cancer streams and at all stages of treatment. She was drawn to the field by a special interest in how humans adapt to life-changing diagnoses and the most mentally challenging of circumstances. She works in an authentic and collaborative style, drawing on evidence based psychological treatments tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals. Julie attended the University of Glasgow in Scotland before moving to Australia where she completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology at University of Technology, Sydney. Whilst home is now Sydney, she does at times still yearn for a walk in the wet hills and glens of the Scottish highlands!
Meso Hour is an initiative of the Commonwealth Mesothelioma Alliance, made possible by the Biaggio Signorelli Foundation.
